It was an October evening when a friend and I arrived at the mansion. We decided to go on the ghost tour to see what it was all about. After meeting Patty and Scott, and going through the group orientation we were split into groups. We started on the 2nd floor of the mansion. After the little tour we were on our own to explore the rooms. Charley and I had gone into the Lincoln room with some of the other people in the group. One particular person was taking pictures of the room. What he had found on his pictures was unexplainable. He was able to track orbs from the left side of the wall going towards me and then past my face. There was a room on the 2nd floor that was drawing my attention. I had been in the room before but nothing happened. So I went back to it. At this time Steve was in the room. He was standing beside one of the smaller glass display cases holding Civil War pieces. I was standing by the larger case that had taken up the rest of the wall. Steve asked if I smelled the scent of old wine in the room. I had replied no but had smelled the scent of black licorice. I was turning to go towards another display when for some reason I heard what sounded like finger nails grabbing at the bottom cabinet door to the display case that was behind me. I jumped a little and screamed. Steve called Patty and Scott to the room. We thought maybe that vibrations had popped the door loose but had failed to have it pop open when we tried. We ended the night going into the dining room were the War Governors table was displayed. Upon entering there was a breeze of cold air going around the room. I was standing by one of the chairs looking at the fireplace when I noticed a visible orb shooting from under the table towards the fireplace and disappearing. I truly believe now that there are unexplained paranormal activities that do exist.
